About Me
John Hickman began his career at Chase Manhattan Bank as an analyst and project manager in risk management, and that training still shapes how he works. He has since spent more than twenty years as an active investor and student of technical market analysis, studying market behavior, cycles, and long-term trends. His approach is planning-first: identify and manage the risks most likely to derail a retirement, rather than try to predict markets.
A Certified Financial Fiduciary and Licensed Roth Strategist, John works with retirees who have more in their IRA than they need to live on. He helps them reduce the tax burden that account will pass to their beneficiaries, plan for required minimum distributions before they arrive and push Medicare premiums higher, and protect principal from the kind of loss that permanently reshapes a retirement. He holds a finance degree from Widener University and a retirement planning certification from the Institute of Financial Wellness.
With these states added: South Carolina, Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, Arkansas, Mississippi, California, Tennessee.
His approach to this work is grounded in the Christian values that guide his life: faith, integrity, stewardship, humility, and service. He treats every family the way he would want his own treated. John and his wife Teresa live in Ridge Spring, South Carolina, where they raised five children and now enjoy their growing family and grandchildren.
“Helping families prepare for retirement is more than my profession. It is a responsibility, a calling, and a privilege that I never take for granted.”
